Feel free to call me Julie! I am a clinical psychologist with nearly 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist. I’m not a “blank canvas” therapist and couldn’t be if I tried. This means I am committed to providing interactive therapy which offers perspective taking, providing feedback, and encouraging behavioral experiments outside of session to see what is really working for you, and what might not be. I am passionate about human rights and self-expression, and find immense joy in others learning and embracing who they authentically are.
Who am I as a human? I am a lifelong learner who is always reading, either to become a better therapist, to learn more about the world, or to dive into a good story. I love TV and movies–I’ve seen over 3000! I also enjoy cooking and visiting restaurants, especially to support small businesses. Those dearest to me appreciate my unique sense of humor and endless curiosity about the human condition. I adore all creatures great and small, and currently cohabitate with a highly demanding calico cat who is freeloading due to her lack of opposable thumbs. Someday, I will get better at gardening.
